According to a hearing by Dr. Jonathan Baille:
-
"About 40% (180 million tons) of plastic is used once before discarded."
-
In other words: 2 out of 5 plastic bottles are used once before we throw them out unknowingly
-
-
"A 2015 study suggested that an estimated 150 million tons of plastic are currently wasting away in our oceans, with 5.3 to 14 million tons entering the ocean each year
-
If those numbers remained constant today, we'd have over 206 million tons of plastic in our ocean.
-
-
"Marine life confuse Six-Pack rings for food, thus plastics of all sizes are linked to Digestive track problems to Death."
